Simple Machine – Science Saturdays
3 05 2008Building catapults was our culminating activity today. Participants were given some materials, like popsicle sticks, rubber bands, and glue, to build a device to launch a marshmallow. The pictures are coming soon. Thanks so much for coming – look forward to seeing you for session 4….

This class was the best yet because there was less videos. I enjoyed the hands- on activities and the time at the computer. Looking forward to next week.
t very engaging. We all enjoyed trying to make catapults and working on the website that let you work hands on in identifying machines.
The Science Session was very informative. I learned a lot as far as instructions in science. The actiities that we worked on allowed for differentiation of instruction in a gender specific way where the male students would be more interested in building and creating things. My only concern would be the time blocks that my students habve available to conduct these activities and getting ready for the next classrooma assignment. But it was great to know that we have these options available to us as science teachers. Thanks for the opportunity.
todays lesson was on simple machines and we were able to make an improvised catapult and it was tested though my group came last. todays lesson was very interactive and we had a lot of hands on activities.
It was truly an amazing session full of activities that kept me engrossed. I gained a lot more knowledeg than before. The concept of simple machines is now more meaningful to me. Thank you so much, Ms. Bailey!
